ok so im a red p plater and i know i cant legally drive a V8, but i read this

i got this from Roadsmart - High Powered Vehicle Restrictions

now from my understanding that means i can drive a V8 on my P's because im 25, is this correct? im checking the NSW RTA website and cannot find anything about an exception for being over 25, it would be mighty nice if this was true.

I'm fairly sure thats true, but check with the RTA anyway. Actually go in and ask. You don't want to get pulled up only to find out that its wrong. :(

I know in the country you can apply for a special licence or something because a lot of young people on farms need the abilty to drive a larger powered vehicle but as for the 25yr old thing when you find out let us all know.

looks like youll be fine, but might be pulled over a bit if its obvious your car is a v8

it sounds logical, i mean most P1 and P2 laws apply to under 25's.. ive got my fingers crossed, i think ill call the RTA after work and find out.

If your 25 you should be right, law states under 25. >25 FTW.

You can email the RTA (I have been told) so have a hunt around the website, then print out whatever they say and if a copper decides to be painful just produce the letter :D

i cant find anything official from the RTA website, all i found was that roadsmart website, thats about as reliable as my next door neighbour telling me i do whatever speed limit i want to, the NSW RTA says "exceptions apply" to the P1 and P2 laws but it doesnt say what the exceptions are.
