Quick question for all here, what is the ride quality like on a V6 VN with King Superlows and KYB Excel-G's ?

(short story)

I had a stocker VN V6.
Shocks were blown, so I replaced front and rear with King Springs LOW and KYB Excel-G shocks (non short ones).

My strut tops were stuffed, so I needed to replace those and I wasnt happy with the ride height (35mm drop my-arse). The ride quality was rather sloppy. so I replaced the front and rear springs with King Springs Superlow.
and sold the King Low springs.

This restored the car to a reasonable height, however the ride quality is still pretty poor.

I bought shortened KYB-Excell G shocks for the rear, and I've noticed a significant improvement, as the rear is no where as sloppy.

alas the front is still sloppy and bouncy as hell.

QUESTION: Is matching King Superlow shocks with KYB shortened Excel-G's imperative?
Because i've been most disappointed with the ride quality as of yet.

And for the money blown during this ordeal, i could have bought quite decent suspension. Augh!

Forgot to mention, front end has all Nolothane bushels.
And the front have new shocks, they just aren't short throw.

I've done some reading and though short-throw shocks are best practice, I had no idea it was imperative to overcome shitty ride quality?

Its not the swaybar, i get front tyre lift @ 60ks around a round-about. :p

It feels like the shocks are stuffed. Which is infuriating because they are brand new.
Just a really sloppy front end.

I can only deduce that normal shocks and lowered springs are a big no-no.
Or that KYB Excel-G's are utter garbage.

Maybe you should just slow down on roundabouts?

I suggest you talk to one of the sponsors here: Greg from GSL Rallysport. He sell KYB and Monroe and always recommends the KYB even though they're cheaper.

Scooter79, this was during a test-'fang' in a industrial area in newcastle late at night. I do not condone wreckless driving.

I know, and from what I hear KYB are fairly decent.
I'm going to keep trying to work out what it is, i'll post the answer to this thread once.. i work it out.
Something doesn't feel right.

I still run Lovells in the front of mine as I was never happy with the King Springs fronts as they were softer than the Lovells. I went from Monroe to KYB shocks last time I changed shocks and was quite impressed with the improvement.
