Hey guys I just bought a very straight VH sl with a 3 Speed auto and a 202 as my first project car and I'm looking for some advice, specifically I'd like to know what oil filter and oils people like to run (keeping in mind this will be a daily driven car once ready) and if anyone has a link to buy, part number or even just a photo of the little bulbs that go in behind the gauge cluster for indicators, park brake etc.
Even if you dont have what I'm looking for, any kind of advice generally would be greatly appreciated.

For a daily car a ryco filter and your favourite brand 20w50 oil will be fine.
Be careful of the dreaded plastic fittings on the pollution gear as they break easily. Not to mention the plastic drive gear on the distributor shaft..

The book recommends Engine oil SF20W/50
With filter (Z30) 4.0 litres
Without filter 3.7 litres
Trimatic transmission Dexron11
Service refill 2.75 litres.

A 35 year old 6cyl Holden will not hold up very long if you drive it hard and frequently. My advice is buy a 2001 Corrolla (or whatever) for $800 bucks and use that as your daily, keep the VH in as good a nick as you can while keeping the k's low, garage it else it will dissolve. As for the bulbs, painful... painful to get out and to source since few cars in the last 15 or so years have used incandescent globes to illuminate the dash. Pull out examples and take them to a parts shop that specialises in resto's, or even try your regular parts shop, they may have some laying around. Penrite HPR 30 oil all the way.
