    Hi all,

My wife and I both have VS V6's with the same gearbox (4L60E auto). I just noticed on my wifes car (S2, lowered, IRS) that when I change gears between P, N, R and D/2/1 that the car seems to sort of "bounce", like it seems to go up on one gear, a bit lower on the other. This behaviour is consistent with the gears.

On my VS (S1, stock height, solid rear) when I change gears it doesn't do this, though I do feel a sort of clunk it's more of a noise, the car certainly doesn't bounce like her car does.

Which behaviour is normal, is one of them on the way out or is each car doing what it's supposed to?

    Many thanks!

IRS cars do have a bit of a "bounce" when cycling through the gears, totally normal.
I'd say the clunk in the live axle is just diff lash being taken up by the driveshaft. not ideal, but not uncommon

i'd say it's the engine/driveline loading up against the chassis and suspension when you put it in gear. my missus's VS does this also although it's a live rear axle like yours but lowered. check the mounts driveshaft etc. although i have replaced all these on my VS it still does it. possibly you notice it more on lowered cars because the suspension is firmer so you notice it more
