Assuming EGR and PCV are the same thing, yes it does, it is located between the plenum chamber (top half of the inlet manifold) and the inlet manifold (Bottom half) Its not a massive job to replace it, but its not the best fun either.
yeh i was under the impression it was the PVC valve but looking on Ebay i saw a listing for this:...HOLDEN VT VX EXHAUST GAS RECIRCULATION EGR VALVE - eBay Engine Parts, Engines, Components, Car Parts, Accessories, Cars, Bikes, Boats. (end time 07-Feb-09 15:18:31 AEDST) it says for a V6 ...i know its a VT/VX but isn't the engines the same in the vt as to the VS?? reason why i ask is i have been trying to find out what the noise is in my car as its a high pitch whistling noise that is there when i accelerate low to mediu but if i accelerate real quick there is nothing. I have checked all vacuum hoses and all seems good only thing i can think of is a gasket leak? cheers
EGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculation). I know the VT has it but unsure of the VS, if it does it is located on the passengers side exhaust manifold. It basically recirculated exhaust gases back into the intake manifold for pollution etc.. You sound like you have a vacuum leak, unlikely to be exhaust related..
thanks for that. yeh looks as though the VS don't have one. Will check over vacuum hoses and inlet gaskets etc tomorrow and see how i go cheers
No EGR on the VS. for those people that do have it on later models, i suggest the Raptor style EGR Gasket "support" plate as a great mod:whistling
PCV valve is the Positive Crankcase Ventilation valve, all it does is vent crankcase pressure into the intake manifold. The EGR is totally different and as immortality has already said, the VS does not have one.
