Just a quick question, as I don't have a workshop manual to check.
I have a VH with a 253. I'm checking the wiring. The alternator has 2 wires on it, the charge wire which obviously connects to the +ve battery terminal and another, which I believe is for the warning light on the dash. How is this meant to be wired? Should the wire go from the back of the alternator to the dash light to an ignition power feed? Or to ground? Or what?
Thanks, hopefully this is an easy question to answer.
Also, for interest sake, is this wire required for operation of the alternator? Is it a field voltage reference point or something or just purely for the light on the dash?
