well on the way to go fishing @ jacobs well the other day with the wife, kids and the old man, my less than a year old sss radiator in my vs calais died:( we were at the big servo @ staplyton (one with maccas) when after grabbing some bait and walking back to the car i noticed heaps of coolant comeing out from under the car, so had a look under the hood and it was leaking really bad from the drivers side! so moved the car quicly to the car park and called my neighbour to give me and the old man a lift home while the missus stayed with the car, me and dad rushed home grabbed my old radiator (was taken out when i was haveing cooling problems but was still in good nick) a new bottle of coolant, flew back to the servo and swapped out the broken radiator and filled her up! the car is fine now and runs nice and cool but it was not a very nice experience!! was just wondering if anyone else has had this happen with these brand of radiator or any simmilar expeience? also after looking at home on the old radiator i cannot see the crack but the is alot of fluid seepage comeing from the plastic side tank so i would say the side tank has gone!

3 years ago, my radiator had busted its side tank (Driver's side) and I just replaced it with a new genuine one. The new one is the same as my old one but the mechanic told me that they were improved a bit over the old ones (Don't know whether thats true or not).
But ever since I got it, its going good.

I heard that you can get ones with metal tanks as taxis use them. they are way better and lasts a lot longer. Maybe a bit heavier.

wow you got a ripper of a deal:thumbsup: when i went to holden spare parts @ springwood i got quoted i think it was between$425-$475 just for a genuine radiator alone (not fitted) but definately over $400 imo thats legal robbery:p you can see why i chose the $180 sss version!
