Hiya,
Recently I have discovered that my radiator fan doesn't turn on, ive let my car sit and got coolant temp as high as 100 c, still no fans.

My temp gauge on the dash is still one bar below half and doesn't seem to overheat but the engine bay feels rather hot

Any advice to fix this or does the fan not kick in until really high temp?

Also the fans do work as they kick in when I turn my ac on and i have no engine lights or anything

Thanks!

Then they work.

They don’t run all the time. The ECM controls when they come on.

They wont kick in till about 109c usually unless you have it tuned to come on earlier, if they are working with the AC on then all is good with them.

On a commodore the kick in is half way on the temp gauge.
If it's at a quater it's not hot.

If you feel it's too hot change the temp sensor to put your mind at ease. It's fairly cheap should be under $40.

Is it a good idea to change the temp sensor after a certain amount of km or years ?
