When my car idled I get an irregular tapping/knocking, almost like something is loose, but it doesn't happen at set intervals, sometimes 20 knocks in a few seconds, then a break then 5 knocks then break etc. My car has done 400k+ kms, no service history after 200k kms. Any ideas what to check, what it could be etc. Originally thought spark plugs from service I done but its not consistant enough in my opinion.
Check if your sump is touching the crossmember or if the engine mounts themselves are sitting on the safety bars? Engine mounts common in these engines. But yes, of course it could be many other things also.
