Hello everyone, For some time now, I have been having random warnings on the dash when I am driving. I get the airbag light, traction control and the check engine light coming on, with the associated audible chimes. When this happens, if I put a load on the electrical system, the warning lights extinguish, and everything returns to normal. I have had the abs module checked, and the body control module checked with no fault found. The alternator has now been replaced with a brand new genuine part. My mechanic has checked for fault codes, and nothing registers. I have replaced the battery, and my mechanic is now looking for a bad earth. Other than that, we are clutching at straws. Has anyone come across this sort of thing before? Most recently, my mechanic has found the instrument cluster throwing up many codes, but we are still unable to find the source. Is it possible that the instrument cluster is causing these issues? Thoughts anyone? Thanks.

abs module, plug or alternator/regulator.

the above cause intermittent issues.

fault code tell you SFA when this happens.

sounds like alternator regulator, they can become intermittent before failing

+1 on the alternator regulator. I remember a few years ago getting the warning lights. Had the regulator replaced and all good. The brushes wear out.

VX II Clubby also, my alternator was playing up also. In foggy weather on highway the warning lights would come on and go off just as I would try fault finding. I'd have aircon to demist, headlights, probably rear demist and wipers going. Then about 3 days later, same weather and stretch of road the lights would come on and stay on, then one by one more would come on until no power and roll to roadside. I recall the lights all pointed at an ABS fault which was also the first part of the computer shedding options on low power. No faults logged, new alternator and good to go after doing various ABS and computer tests. Even started right up without battery being charged.
