rapid exhaust VE DG J tailpipes

    Hi all, I just bought these for my VE SSV auto sedan. Prior to buying them while researching I could not find a post here on these, so I thought I start one to help others possibly looking at them. I wanted a better sound for my car without a big cash outlay. My car has no other engine mods. I was a little sceptical on the drone free claim, but I can assure that this is the case in my experience! They fitted in around 15 minutes and they do have a pretty good note. It is quieter then I expected, around town etc, and out the road there is no intrusive noise. Give it some beans and you get the v8 note of course. Nice looking tips too. Very good bang for you buck I think!

    Hey there, any chance of you posting a vid on the sound, Ive been looking also, at adding some noise to my girl, without having to spend a fortune :)

    anybody with an alloytec put these on? ive been looking at them as i'm concerned about drone when i get my exhaust done...

    Don't put them on. It wouldn't sound too much different to a V6 without rear mufflers which (trust me) sounds fugging terrible!

    i had a set of these 3 inch pipes on my ss and they sounded crap!!!!!!! took them off straight away.

    I have KPM's Diff back..... Normally it comes in a cat back but I just had my exhaust dudes fit just the diff section back......... sounds quite good but it does drone.

    Normally you kill of V4 mode due to the drone and vibration....... I spent some time and adjusted mine in the ECU..... works good..... get bout an extra 10-20km.... Have it set to under 1% throttle to come on and go off at about 20%....... u barely notice it. It's also disabled for highway so it wont kick in at all.

    v4 really had to be tuned if u get any exhaust. I work in the city so it's sort of handy to have it set for more of a coasting option etc in traffic.

    PS. If this thread is regarding those cheap nasty ebay straight thru pipes! They SUCK! Nice to idle and do nothing........ other then that, they drone like a ******! I got them first, tried modifying them (adding a glass packed resonator)........ FAIL

    Go a full cat back for the best result....

    i had them on my afm ss auto and thought they were awesome. till i got defected so i sold them to a mate with a e1 ve gts manual. and it sounds like an animal.... no complaints here
