There seems to be a rattle coming from under the rocker covers. well at least i think its coming from there. When i have it in neutral and rev it to about 2000rpm and keep it there. you can hear a pretty loud rattle. And when im driving my car, i can here the rattle, mainly when its under load, like when im going up a hill and wrong gear. or if i put my foot down the 4th gear and its labouring a bit. it sorta sounds like pinging but i have tried all fuels and everything but it still does it.

Another Commodore with a rocket? They are called rocker covers because they cover the.....rockers....sorry, had to be said.

Harmonic balancer can make that same noise and it can sound like it's coming from the rocker covers. How long has it been since you have done an oil change? Use a 20w50 oil if you don't already, and if it is a tappet noise, you will find it will diminish.

you know you can check ur rockers by taking the cover off...those gaskets are just a rubber seal that fits into a channel in the cover so u dont really need to replace it..
