Hi

Anyone know what this noise is. It goes away when clutch is pressed

I press the clutch in the video from 6 seconds to 9 seconds.

It's short shifted with a GMM Ripshifter, shifter is quite rattly too but been told that's the price I pay for a ripshifter.

Car is a 2006 VZ SS manual ute L76 6L

Only 120,000 kms on it, heavy duty clutch.

thrust bearing?

I've read online it could be a lot of things such as input shaft bearing, clutch bearings and whatnot.

It drives perfectly fine though, goes into gear fine and has no issues. Just the rattlish noise coming when idling on neutral.

It's the thrust bearing. In every car I've owned that had a noisy one I never did anything and there were never any problems. It's a consumable when you replace the clutch so don't worry about it until you need to do that or there's another problem or it stops you shifting gears or something.
