hey all. ive owned my commodore for about a year now and to begin with it was just going to be a stop gap whilst i saved up for an import. since ive gotten the car ive gotten seriously sick of all the imports around and have really started to love my commodore, so now its going to be my project! so far i havent done anything much to it about from regular maintenance and keeping it in good condition. it only has 190,000kms on the clock, is really clean in all aspects and has had log books from new to the present! i decided its about time i posted up a rides thread, so here goes: Current Condition: Name: Ryan Model: 1997 Holden Commodore VS Series 2 Equipe Colour: Metallic Botanica Mica (i think) Bodykit: None Engine: 3.8L V6 Ecotec Engine Mods: OTR CAI Power: standard? picked up and installed some clear side indicators today, really changes the look of the car from the side, makes it a lot cleaner to look at. ill try to post some pics soon!
here are some pictures of the car when i first got it. since then i have added a chrome tow bar, clear side indicators and a cold air induction. ill try to add pictures of these tomorrow
thanks mate, its one of the cleanest VSs ive seen so im pretty damn happy with it. just wish it were manual, but im working on getting a conversion kit together at the moment..
small update, ive decided not to bother with the manual swap, too much work involved so instead im getting a transgo stage 2 shift kit with a corvetter 1-2 servo. should be ordering it by the end of this week so hopefully itll be going into the car next week!
how much did you pay for that stuff? Where Did you get it from? And how hard is it going to put in thinking about doing it my self?
i got it all from furious performance in NSW: TransGo Hi-Performance Stage 2 Shift Kit for 4L60E (93-0N) [RK-4L60E-HD2] - $230.00 : Furious Performance, Online Performance Parts Store i got a transgo stage 2 shift kit, corvertte 1-2 servo, accumulator piston, plate repair kit and express postage to adelaide for $292. so im really happy with the price. rhys, the owner of furious performance is a really nice guy to deal with, really helpful and punctual with posting stuff of. i dont think itll be too hard to fit, it comes with fitting instructions for everything. if you really want i could scan a couple of pages and pm them to you for you to have a look at just to get a general idea? im not to flash with mechanics so im going to see if a mate of mine can help me do so i can learn it all from him during the process.
when i get mine fitted ill let you know how it feels and if its a good investment. seems pretty decent though and professional and all the reviews i looked at were positive.
yer thanks casue i have been looking at getting a shift kit but if this one good for you and wasent to hard to put i might get one
be careful installing it mate. lots of little fiddly parts . was going to do it myself but yeh temped myself to let the pros do it
thanks for the heads up, ill probably be getting a mate to do it as my confidence isnt too great. any idea how much this kits cost to get professionally installed?
