    VR S2 S PACK
I have a VR S2 S pack which the other day done the fuel pump after i got it back from the mechanics it didnt seem to be driving properly so i pulled over turned car off then it wouldnt start again so they towed it back there n had a look. it was only a fuse.

I drove it home and around with it blowin another fuse that night so i repleced it didnt drive the car untill the next day. i got about 20 kms done the road n it done it again except this time everytime i put a new one in and went to start the car it wold blow it strait away.

The fuse it keeps blowing is the little engine fuse. so i was wondering if anyone had any ideas on what it may be and how to fix it. With out the car running i have no way on getting to work which i need so i can pay for it to get fixed.

    thanks

It could be the oil pressure switch which I think runs thru the engine fuse - they can short internally and supply power to the fuel pump. I'd also be a bit sus that this is happening after a new fuel pump!!!!

i'd be calling the mechanics up and asking if they can take another quick look at thier work as after they touched it something went wrong, any good mechanic would be more then happy to double check thier work.

a tradie at work was tellin me he had exact same problem on his vs. he said he tested everything and found that the wires running to the oxygen sensor looked to be melted, pulled them apart an what do ya no, they were shorted. check this out cuz when u sit and idle it gets pretty hot in and around ur exhaust manifolds. hope this helps. its some sort of short mate, just keep pullin fuses and keep testing, u will find it. patience

you can also do a continuity test from the fuse in question to the car body to determine which end it is on, fuse to battery or fuse to component.
