Well stig and I got it down to a shade under 2 hours from jacking the car up to driving it out. Would have been quicker but I had an exhaust leak where the cat flange gaskit wouldn't seal . Anyway the bearing was as simple as a bit of dirt getting lodged in there. It wasn't seized as such however it was enough to jam occasionally and squeal like a (insert metaphore here). Next up - tune this bugger again :driving: Reaper
Damn thats quick work, getting good at it lol. Good thing it was only a bit of crap in there. Whats with ur pic, did you get a new SSV?
damn thats quick:thumbsup: i was considering making a pit in my garage just so that i don't have to go through the hassles of jacking up the car when i need to get under it. i can get steel and concrete cheap through the missus work so the only question is really how deep i make it
We have done it sooo many times now and have discovered a lot of the little "shortcuts" are anything but. + we know what size all the bolts etc are and how to get to them. I did a "how to" write up on what works and what doesn't if anybody is interested. http://forums.justcommodores.com.au/holden-commodore-how-tos/79367-how-r-r-t5-manual-gearbox-v8.html Reaper
It's not at at the moment. Done all of 10km since it was installed. Needs to be tuned and sorted out yet. Might get a chance to do some tonight (I hope....) Reaper
hey would you be able to explain how your thermos are setup? did you connect the fan power to the orange/blue wire on the engine relay fan?
Misfires are almost always electrical related unless your timing way out and you've spun the balancer or something
Gotta find 5 min to get a new spark plug and dizzy cap. Fingers crossed it fixes it. On a brighter note my new brake calipers arrived today Reaper
ooo pics please i thought you might have already got calipers from the 5000i. What ones are they? Apv? 4 pots?
One of the brackets was broken on the 5000i front so it was cheaper to buy a pair of new 'vette calipers. Reaper
Finally got round to it We now have 330mm slotted disks at the front and 280mm ventilated & slotted disks on the rear . Complete with braided lines etc etc. Old front disks: New:
man that looks tops was it a simple boilt up? is the car running again? bet it pulls up nice and quick
Need more time to get everything sorted. Yes it runs - mid 5.5's on the g-tech 0-60 but the tune is a 5min guess. Brakes are a straight bolt up gig but like most mods - nothing is ever straight forward. Performance is very good (haven't really pushed it yet) but i'm yet to see if fade is an issue. I put new brake fluid right thru the whole system. Reaper
The corvette on the calipiers is a give away that the cars packing some heat now :0, No more sleeper for you
