Yes this is true big brakes little brakes 12s & 2s, but thinking 12 front 8 rear but maybe 8 and 8 what pads do you recommend

Haven't tried many TBH, QFM HPX pads work beyond wildest expectation. Takes a while to bed in, some squeal at first 20,000k but gone now. Massive meat on the pads too BTW.

By the suggestion of 6 pot fronts, I also meant, by default, 4 pot rears. Sorry for confusion.

But 4x4 all 'round is still a very good setup.

EBC Redstuff pads are very good also. They include a pre-applied bedding compound, but can still squeal for the first 1000k's or so. Very little dust too.

A mate runs QFM HPX and loves them because he says they are quiet, very low dust. He is a fussy bugger but I haven't run them myself. I have tried Remsa and hated them due to terrible pedal feel so I stick with my tried and tested Hawk HPS which I absolutely love even though they are dusty because they perform but its horses for courses, what one person loves another hates etc.

Yep - See below. They are Brembo's made for AC Delco

ACDelco 18K1970X Professional Durastop Rear Brake Caliper Kit

Calipers were $232.41 + $13.11 for the spring kit + postage.

You also need pads, 350mm or 355mm rotors (355 is the best option), plus new bolts from Holden.

Thanks for the link mate, really apprecaite it!

Apart from the calipers, discs, lines and spring kit, what else is required if I was to drop this off at the mechanics for the labour?

I didn't replace the standard lines as there was no need. The only other kit apart from what you've listed is the pads. The mechanic will have to trim the backing plates, or alternatively fit HSV ones. They're available on fleabay for about $75.

Labour will probably be around $300.

You need to swap the crossover pipe and nipples on the rear as the donor vehicle has the calipers leading whereas we are fitting them trailing (they are upside down and on the wrong side). These calipers have a differential bore like most modern motorcycle brakes, means the pad surface will wear unevenly and braking will not work as intended if installed upside down.

Pretty sure the Camaro rears are not differential bore whereas CTS-V are. Still works, not the same way, don't need to swap crossover pipe and reverse fit.
