Hi, have you got these 2 bolts off already or do you want to know without pulling them off ? I'd take a wild guess and say either M12 or M16 ( assuming they are metric ).
If you measure the outer diameter of the threads on the bolt ... meaning across the thread from 1 side to the other and get a measurement of 12mm ( or a tiny bit under like 11.8 ) for example then you have an M12 thread. If it is 16mm its M16 and so on.

    When i did mine I thought they were a 14mm.. I can't quite remember but it wasn't a common size, was 13-14

Yeah i got some new ones from holden... the reason i was asking is that two dropped out and the rear caliper came off half way between sydney and melbourne (good way to ruin the end of a holiday btw)

just ended up getting 4 new bolts from holden and changing all the rear ones... i've got the old ones so i should measure but im pretty sure they're an M12

just wanted to check cause i know some bolts on the engine are imperial but its a GM engine... figured made is aus would be metric but wanted to double check

If the head is metric, 18mm or whatever then the thread will also be metric. Had you had the callipers off before doing that trip or were they just loose from the factory ?
It can pay off to go over all the important nuts and bolts on your car with a spanner or socket during each service just to check nothings coming loose and going to fall off

Yeah a 19mm spanner fits em

well last time i touched them was 6 months ago and got it serviced just before christmas which is why i'm at loose ends to figure out why it did it... gotta have a chat with the mechanic about it but i changed all 4 rears and the two that were left looked like they had been pulled in and out a few time

that and the new bolts from holden come with some sort of locking compound on the thread as well i think... either way i added loctite when i did them back up

certainly something to be learnt from it
