went 2 check brakes the other day and couldnt pull either rear wheel off.they seemed to be seized on2 the rotor/hub and cant get em off at all.with all nuts off let the jack down so the wheel could take some load and hopefully crack the seal, but wouldnt work.took a piece of pine and a hammer to the rear of the mag but still couldnt get the prick off...anyone got any ideas???
disconnect the tail shaft.... thats u can movement it and check, once i did and found the auto was ****ed!!!
wtf you on about ^^ I had the same problem with my rear wheels. best thing to do, jack the back of the car in the air. WD40 or something to prevent rust into/on the hub. And with a rubber mallet smash one side of the tire and only on the tire (You can take all nuts or just leave one or two with 2 turns left) and when the tire starts to get a nice angle on it, smash the other side of the tire until that side has a nice angle of it, repeat until wheel is off.
no i get this at work all the time just pull on opsing sides for ages until they just want too come off the jolt them back and foward from aposing sides
well finaly this morning i had time to have another crack .After 2 cans of crc,a rubber mallet, 3 people ,a crowbar and alot of force and bashing i finaly got the wheels off.it only took 2.5 hours.
Just drive with the nuts slightly loose and give it left right left right. Won't hurt anything if you keep an eye on it. Worked a treat for me after trying what you did for hours and only failing.
Now you`ve got the tyre off, clean the rotor with a wire brush or a wire wheel that goes on a drill and paint them with hi temp paint to prevent them from rusting over and happening again it will cost you less than 10 bucks and remove futher headaches, also clean up the matting side of the rim, it works.
Nice idea, too late though could have saved this bloke some time, thats 2.5 hours he will never get back, but you get that with cars.
yer i sanded all the crap and rust of it and rubbed crc on all the contact sufaces so hopefully that will be enough
