hey guys,

my engine has packed up and left me for dead
i think its got a bent push rod

ive got access to a S1 engine that is running, i can get it for cheap as, but i dont wanna just throw it back in

for recondition a engine what else would i need apart from this
ACL Race series rebuild kit (gaskets, pistons, piston rings ect)
Reconditioned heads/ maybe ported
New valve springs
maybe a new cam shaft

is it worth getting the crank shaft and block machined???
also how much would valve stems cost and new valves??

anything else id need/ want???

worth rebuilding a Series 2 block????

if your keen to keep with the buick v6...send it off to C.O.M.E.
http://www.comeracing.com/products/engines/holdenv6/
even left at 231ci..you can still make pretty nice power.
if your not too keen on getting C.O.M.E. to rebuild it for you id recommend at least following a similar path to how they build an engine, sam and issy know what they're doing when it comes to building a tough engine.

wow stage 3 is impressive, 180kw, is that at fly wheel or wheels???

how much do those kits cost???

so far i just need the car back on the road,
was thinking of a

ACL race series rebuild kit
Finding a VN with under 150km
and taking the heads off that with the valves, valve springs intact

i plan on removing the intake manifold on my current engine on friday to see if i can see exactly whats stuffed

complete come price list:
http://www.comeracing.com/products/pricelist_2005.pdf

i'ld be guessing that those power figures quoted would be rwkw as they quote a high13/low14 1/4mile..

i'll also vouch that they make great engines, i didnt know you back when dad had his XE V8 Falcon, but they rebuilt that engine with excellent results (you've probably heard me talk about it once or twice thoe).

but from our convo this arvo, your really better off emailing c.o.m.e and telling em exactly what you're planning.

manual VN aero
at least get the crank reground and the bores honed since you will be using new bearings and pistons
