Just about to attempt my first oil change and after visiting Repco, discovered that there is 3 times the range of oils than i expected.

I have '99 VT Commodore Series 2, S/W now running on dual fuel, the stadard V6 engine. What engine oil do you use/recomoend and is it worth condidering the CNG/LPG oils (for higher combustion temperatures) like Castrol GTX Gas?

i would use a fully synthetic oil if i could afford to ... at present i just did my first oil change since buying the VX and used a synthetic fortified oil .... 20 - 50 grade .... i think it's to you which major brand you choose .... i haven't ever read or heard anything bad about the big name brands .... i bought my oil from Autobarn here cos they was cheaper for the same oil as Repco....

Best oil for d00l f00l is Penrite Gas 10 and Penrite Gas for older cars...

It is without doubt the bestest in the world. I will fight anyone who disagrees..

do you have to use a gas oil when running (mainly) on gas? I'm still using the Penrite HPR 15

Ok, All you people on Gas.. Give Penrite Gas 10 a shot and you WILL notice the difference..

No doubt about it..

Edit: Btw, I also have a huge drum of oil and a few filters about and I'm about to dump my car soon. So if anyone wants an oil change below cost price in the SE suburbs of Melbourne.. PM me..

I Agree I use Penrite HPR 15 i in my SS 5.0Litre v8 and 20w 50 Everyday Driving in my N13 Nissan Pulsar and i will never turn back. I have Previously used Valvoline,Penzoil GT Performance in the SS and would never go back.

Penrite is priced well,Australian made and owned. PENRITE No 1!
