Hi All,

Series 2 VE SS-V with a bunch of mods (OTR CAI, full top end rebuild + cam, full 3inch exhaust, headers, suspension, brakes you name it)

Car goes and handles fine - just noticing a couple of noises that worry me and wondering if someone could help identify what they might be or recommend a good, fair and reliable/trust worthy mechanic in Sydney (preferably North Shore or Inner West) who could.

Due to cam, car is quite 'lumpy' at idle.

1) Noise one - only ever heard when car is moving forward under 25kms an hour (not at idle and not noticeable under heavy acceleration or higher speeds). Sounds to my ears like a dull thud noise from the suspension (even when on non-bumpy surfaces) but the handling and ride seem fine - haven't checked strut towers properly yet etc - just wondering if anyone else recognises the symptom?

2) Noise two - only noticed it since hitting a large piece of metal on the Pacific Highway, north of Newcastle just after boxing day and blew out drivers side tyre. Noise sounds like two pieces of metal rubbing lightly together at high velocity like a loosely closed bonnet? - only happens when car is stopped but in gear (automatic transmission) and sounds like its coming from the opposite wheel well to the one that blew (front passenger side). Putting car in neutral or under acceleration of any kind and the noise goes away. Have checked bonnet latch is working properly and is securing correctly.

Any ideas or recommendations greatly appreciated.

Cheers!
