I'm looking to recondition my engine and i hear it's about 2K min for a standard rebuild. Now i also hear u can save hundards by doing it urself, but do u really? I did some homework and found to get a rebuild kit from repco would set u back around $750-$800. Exchange reconditioned heads around $400 EACH! And then u have to get somethings done by a machine shop anyway like acid clean and resurfacing or decking the block and for me a re-hone(don't have the confidence). So were already looking at $1400 then how much for a clean, deck and hone? Does anyone know the approxment amount or should i just pay for the convinence of someone else doing the whole rebuild professtionally? Cheers

yeah in all honesty buying a rebuilt engine would be wiser, unless you can get the new engine parts at wholesale or trade price.

Big things like that, I leave it to the pros. Plus they have warranty on their work.

This is not your run-of-the-mill conventional engine. With out the proper knowladge and experience it can cost a LOT.So be a wise man and get'em to fit one 4u and save time'n $$$$$$.

yeah in all honesty unless your pretty good with these things in not worth tackling unless you just want to do it for fun and you have plenty of money to burn anyway.

so many moving parts inside an engine and they all pretty much need to be seated perfectly.
