Has anyone done anything to change the colour of the instrument lighting? Holden told me it couldn't be done. I have toyed around with the idea that if I put someting like thick yellow contact film over the facia it will result in orange readouts. I have no idea where I could find such material though. Any thoughts? I don't want to pull out the whole instrument cluster.
if it is all done with leds like the vy/vz then get on to phreddy at asr and he should be able to help you out
come on Phreddy, whens the VE mods happening? I agree. Ive been in a few VE's of a night now and the red gives me the annoyances. Green is boring and makes me think of a Commodore 64 screen, but at least its not annoying!
Hey Guys - thanks for the plug there!! (Bill, Ryan, Matt, Silver...) I have had the odd query on the VE lighting, but unfortunately I haven't had one to look at yet. In fact, if there's anyone in the Sydney (West) area that's keen, I would reward the "guinea pig" with a substantial reduction in price. Any takers?? (for the skeptics out there, please just refer to any of my customers who have had the VY/VZ mod done - never had a single complaint yet.) Cheerz!
mine's already red and white No modding needed It looks hot already! Maybe if I had a blue car though...
Guinea Pig? Hi Phreddy, I live out Penrith way, and have found the red SV6 instrument lighting unusable. Part of my problem is the 59 year old eyes, but I recently had an Omega swap car for a night (while the dealer repaired the minor panel damage that occured to my car while in for a service). I found the old boring green easy to read and easy on the eyes. I am toying with changing to a Calais/Berlina cluster for the three window trip computer, but might be interested in a light colour change as well. Where in Western Sydney are you? Cheers, Norm
Fekason, Phreddy is right near you (Penrith area). ...But me first! I've been hassling him about doing my dash for ages! :yeah: *EDIT* to his credit, I'm also waiting for Phreddy to come up with a solution for the red head unit display, before he goes and changes my cluster.
^^ Looks good indeed. That's exactly what I want. That bloke got his head unit LCD display changed to blue by some mob in Melbourne, which is not practical for me. I'm waiting for Phreddy to get some time to work out how to do the h/u display before I get the rest of the cluster changed to blue. I might have to give him a friendly "poke" :yeah:
