red lights in statesman door trim.

    hey guys
    i just got myself a set of statesman door trims and they have the red light in and im just wondering whether my vr berlina would have the plug for them or. where should i wire them up from. and do you guys reckon it would be ok to use speaker wire?

    I'd probably just wire it up to the switch that runs the interior lighting, when you open the doors etc. I would probably use wiring a bit thicker than speaker wire though, just to be safe.

    Im fairly sure sure there is a plug in the door for it,is in mine

    On berlinas and statos the door looms run a extra 2 wires ...one from the interior light 12v+ and the other to the door jam switch which has 2 contacts on it that make to earth when the door is opened not one like the conventional exect door switch

    I swear ive seen the plug for the door lights taped up inside the door.

    i pulled my rear door trim off and i couldnt see it there. might have another look tomorrow. if not ill just hook it up to the interior light loom

    I know this is an old thread but am planning on doing these door lights as well. Can anyone confirm if the lights themelves are the same ones from the glove box? Are they both the same size as I have people telling me I can use the glovebox lights. Would also like to know if anyone is wrecking VS Calais, Statesman as I would be interested in the lights and the surrounds which go with it.
