Heres a bit of a trick. Before you go and get your air con gassed this summer check for leaks. Most places will do this but you can do it pretty quickly yourself if you have a 'black light' aka a UV light. The gas in the air con is actually doped with a dye that will show up under a black light ( a bit like CSI) he he. If you notice a big patch then chances are you have a leak.

You can not use any black light, it has to be a long wave type because standard black lights don't have the intensity to show up UV dye. Not all air conditioning systems have UV dye, most air con specialists will add UV dye when they service it, aswell as some car manufactors.
