Hey guys got my rwc today for the SS, wondering what the fees are for getting it registered at vicroads? Can you get a 6month rego ?

Also do I have a certain amount of days I have to register it within the day of rwc is given?

    Thanks

RWC last for 28 days so you have to get your rego in that time.
you need to book it in for rego as well, you cant just turn up and expect it to be done.
you can get 6 month rego if you have a healthcare card - if you dont then you have to pay for a full year.
as for fees - there are a lot.
    take $800 at least.

    Umm..........800!?

I would think more about 600.

Is it true that all cars cost the same amount to register?

Coz when my dad bought a volvo, and we had to pay the rego, we were surprised at the expense, being an old car. But she said all cars are the same.

It seems that may not be the case............silly bitch.

most are the same from memory. i priced rego for the bmw when i paid the vp's rego, and it was the same. the only thing that changes it is based on postcode, its dearer in the city.

NSW you pay based on the tare weight, the heavier your car, the more you pay.

price is dependent on postcode i think.
my cars cost $510 each for rego.

as for your $600 quote - dont think so.
you have rego, stamp duty, booking fees, number plates etc etc, as Noy said, it was $897 anyway.

if your RWC expires after the 28 days - yes, you do need to go get another one.
it MUST be current at time of registration.
speak to the shop that done it and explain the situation, they may just write out another for you without going through all the crap.
