I thought I'd post it because several people have questioned Christians to why we think we are the only faith that should be followed, so I thought I'd start with that. It's not a hate site for bashing other religions, just a site which Christians can gather info to defend their faith as well as non believers to learn something about Christianity as well.
And that's precisely why I struggle to believe. The physics involved in the great flood of Noah's era straight away point to an inconsistency. According to the bible, it rains for a long time 40 days and 40 nights and lo, the whole world is flooded. Problems: 1) Where did all the water come from? Don't say the sky, how did it get to the sky? It couldn't have evaporated from the ground because the world was not flooded. And it certainly wasn't suspended in the atmosphere as vapour, the pressure and temperature changes have just killed Noah. 2) Once the rain stopped where did all the water drain to? I did a bit of research and and creationists have attempted to solve both problems with the idea that all tectonic movement of plates happened in the last 6000 years or so. So no mountain ranges before the flood and then BANG geological processes are sped up a factor of a million and suddenly everything comes into being. To totally disregard the field of geology and the time associated for these changes (hundreds of millions of years) is unbelievable. More to the point, taking elements of science to suit their own purposes and ignoring any other testable geological theory that puts the age of anything older than 6000 years old is reprehensible.

Anyone hear Clive Robertson on 2UE last night? He was commenting on a move to remove complementary bibles from hospitals because they "offend" some people of other religions/beliefs. However, he noted the likely response from those people proposing this change if he suggested that certain magazines on display in the newsagents offended him (and lots of Christians, Muslims, etc) and therefore should be removed. Are you suggesting that only material that is not offensive to anyone should be generally available, or a "ban" should only apply if it relates to the Christian belief? I don't see this as a big issue, but let us have consistency.
if your gonna ban one religious book from view, ban the lot. cant make exceptions based on whats more acceptable in society and whats not...
I heard about this few weeks back, i agree that all religious books should be kept out of rooms. When you go to a room, you ask for what you want, this way no one can be offended. In this world gone crazy of Political Correctness it's abut the only way no one will be offended...then again, maybe people will get offended that their book isnt as popular as others...bah.

In qld, a school has banned people from wearing a necklace with a crucifix, so as to not offend muslims. Yet these muslims can wear head dress...wheres the ****ing logic. Just one thing i'd like to say... Although i do not beleive in religion, i beleive it should be taught in schools once per week(more so secondary) to give children a chance to understand what it is and make their own decisions. This should cover all forms, from buddishm, to islam to catholicism and broadness of christianity. However in this day and age it can't happen because apparently it always offends someone...sad state of affairs.
One thing I hate about the education system is that they can freely teach evolution and billions of years this that and the other, but they refuse to teach an alternative to evolution called creation. So these kids grow up like most people thinking evolution, big bang this and that are completely fact without seeing anything different. Heck I'm sure a lot of Christian/Cathloc schools probably teach about evolution and that's another problem. I used to believe in billions of years and big bang. Why did I? Simple. I didn't know any different.
I rememder when I was at school we used to have a religious instruction class once a week. That stopped when the teacher was sacked for beating one of my class mates for having KISS written on his hand. He was lucky cause my mates dad came looking for him the next week. I suppose this is why I have such a negative opinion on religion.
i was never taught about the big bang theory! i got taught fuk all at school in regard to religion or evolution. Biology was the only place adn it was lewin and darwin and the comparing the two sides of the arguments. we werent pressured into anything at school which was good, it was left to us to decide what we thought was right. still had to do the work, regardless of opinion but that is just applyed knowledge used in regard to a scenario...
But you can't blame Christianity as a whole because there are a few false preachers as there is Catholic pedophile preists.
Things that happen to you or that you observe when you are young tend to leave a lasting impression. As Mukas said I wasnt having a go at christianity as a whole, Just the one fukcwit & the impression he left.
