I am trying to remove my centre console. I am unable to pull apart the power window switches. I levered them out of the case a little way, but then they seem to be stuck. When I pushed them together again the switches wont click. What have I done?

The switches have clips that keep them in. The metal clip is a little fragile though and has probably broken as you tried to remove it. Easiest fix is probably just to put a little glue under it and push it back down. Are you saying the window switches themselves are no longer working? If so they may have come apart slightly when you were removing them causing the metal contacts inside to come out of place. Fix to this is to remove the switch entirely and reassemble it.

The switch should come out far enough to unplug it from the main lume, it has a plug on it with about 200 mm of lead.if the switch itself come apart i doubt you will be lucky enough to get it back together and work again. If its the right hand window switch you will most likely lose the lot coz of the child lock switch on the windows being open circuit.
When i fitted the power windows to my ute i used a VX ute switch in coz it was 57 bucks for the double switch and to top it off i put relays in there as well.
