I want to remove the CD changer cable from my VXII Calais and replace with RCA leads.

Can anyone give me any tips tha'll make the job easier? I'd like to pull the dash etc apart no more than I have to.

    cheers

I have just finished removing the long part of the cable - from the boot to up front behind the computer (front lhs footwell) It was more effort to get out than I wanted to put in, but once I started the job...

Now I am stuck - how do I get the short piece that goes from behind the stereo - up around the passenger air bag assembly and down to the front lhs footwell ?

And the most important question - can I sell the cd player, stacker and cable - without this small cable? If someone was to retrofit the system into their car, they could get by without it couldn't they?

    cheers

Be better to sell it with the cable.

No doubt - it would be better - but is it necessary? It looks very involved to remove and is essentially a 50cm extension of the 5m cable. I reckon you could install the system without the short piece?
