Just wondering if anyone knows how the rubber comes off of the inside of the doors (the rubber which seals it shut), and also how to remove the chrome piece on the outside of the door at the bottom of the window frame?

I got a VH BTW, but I'm guessing most of the older commy's would be the same.

Cheers,
Danny

The door rubber retaining clips are shaped like a T so you need to strech the rubber and lift it over the lip of the T on one side then slide it the other way for the other side. To remove the clips from the doors I lever them out using a pair of side cutters.

If your talking about the chrome moulds/weather stips along the top of the door skin, there are about 4 clips that retain them, I use a scraper in between the door & the weatherstip and tap it upwards. Progressivly go along the length of the door. Be gentle you dont want to bend them.

cheers
Scott

better yet, pull them off, even bend them if you like and then replace them with new ones, nothing like new genuine chrome, motor traders can still get them in, you'll be looking at about $40 each, and they've even got soft rubber, not like the 23 year old sun exposed ones...
