Removing VT window winder???

How do I remove the VT window winder, I am installing new speakers and need to take it off?

We tend to get a thread on this almost every month. Either head down to your local auto parts store and buy a window winder removal tool or attempt to remove the circlip that holds the back of the handle onto the winder shaft with a screw driver or a rag.

I tried the rag method but it gave me the ****s. I used 2 small screw drivers to pry open the clips and I had all window winders off in under 10mins

fork works better than screw drivers. cut off all but 1 prong.

it is between the handle and the spacer, you need to push the trim back to see it. I found a rag works the best, slide it between the handle and spacer and it should catch the clip.

fork the fork, works well and easier than a cloth, banged my hands too many times, stupid clothes.....................

ok ok i bought a winder removal tool. i press down between winder and spacer i feel something happening, now what do i pull handle off. I am not too sure about this dont wanna break anything.

Let me know of your experience and ideas.
