Repairing metalic paint

Just wondering if its possible to touch up metalic paint?

my mate got a tiny scrape on the side of his WRX - probably 10cm by 2cm - ended up respraying that side of the car. Apparantly it is very difficult to touch up any other way, and achieve a good result.

Yeah well I made the mistake of thinking cut and polish would remove a small scratch the same as normal paint - bad idea, don't try this at home.

I still have the original scratch, as well as a dull area where I hit it with the polish.

i got genuine touch up paint from holden-phantom mica, then penciled, followed by slight cut with meguires, then gold class, can still see if ya get close, but worked
