replace brake light switch

    i've been told i need to replace my brake light switch in my 99vt exec, can someone tell me what this is and how to replace it please. i know its somewhere on the end of the brake pedal where it goes up under the dash, just need to know what im looking for and how to remove it. your input would be helpful. thankyou

    its on the top of the brake peddle,it just screws in
    it has a little button on the end of it like the interior light button inside the door
    you cant miss it

    i've been told i need to replace my brake light switch on a vy holden did that but still no brake lights can some please help

    Did you check the actual globes and fuse first?

    Ok if you have cruise control there will be two brake controllers down there the cc switch has 2 electrical inputs ports (fig 1) one may be free as this is for trailers with electric brakes , and the brake light switch has one electrical input (fig.2).

    Also the main reason these fail is because the button gets gummed up and seizes so when you take it off test the button funtion if its stiff or stuck you can repair it, the switch is two parts joined by plastic wing clips use a flat blade screw driver to take it apart then clean and lube (dry lube).


    I did this to my SS last week.
