Hey guys i need to replace my inlet manifold gasket and the valve stem seals and was wondering what people reckon on prices of getting it done including parts and labour? I got quoted at ultratune around $1100 which to me is quite steep

If anyone has any idea or could help it would be appreciated
Thanks

If you wanted to save about $1000 you could do it yourself. Alternatively you could live with the valve stem seals leaking a bit - this does not affect efficiency, just blows a puff of blue smoke on start-up. The inlet manifold gasket you could then replace with the aid of a Gregorys manual and the search facility on this forum. Is the gasket leaking coolant or oil?

Check the post I've put below - mumboman has some good advice there about costs. Re the blue smoke it's not a defect as long as it goes away after a few seconds....just a nuisance and shouldn't affect normal operations unless it gets really bad. Even then there are simple methods to replace them. The $1100 quote is very very steep...almost vertical.

Good Luck.

Inlet manifold is a peice of cake. You could do it for under $80 and in one day if you had absolutely no idea what you were doing.

ill second that its real easy
