Hi, i have just replaced a new thermostat & i removed the rubber piipe that goes from the bottom of the radiator to up on the right hand side of the motor, i removed it from the motor end, i flushed out the radiator but my question is how do i flush the motor out because the water was a light brown colour, i have the green coolant & distilled water to put in later. thanks
Don't worry about that first question, thanks, i got a lend of a mates manual and have flushed the motor out, nice and clean now. I have another though if someone could help me please, when i am ready to add the coolant and the distilled water, to have an empty system, do i just undo the rubber pipes from the radiator ? thanks
The brown colour isnt rust ....its the brown pellets that they add to the water to seal for leaks or lubricate the water pump seals ...depends what you believe. Yep dump the water the best way you can..... bottom hose seem to be the best way.The concentration of coolant to water is pretty strong too 50/50 I think but Its cheaper than buying it already made up and make sure you bleed all the air out of the system as this is very important.
Thanks very much the both of you, i will be right now. yep. i seen that air bleeder screw on top of the thermostat. thanks a lot guys.
