I've done it before, but this time the engine in putting in is pulled apart. I was told I have to buy head gaskets and there's an apparent torch wrench setting you need? Just wanted to know where I could find the torch wrench setting, and how much head gaskets are, it's just the top of the motor that's pulled apart, but any information is helpful
For starters its not torch wrench its torque wrench.. and if you really dont know what it is or anything then i suggest you just get a complete motor that is already together and put it in...
I don't have the funds at the moment or the time, as I need the car ready for my new job, and sorry about that, auto correct, my friend is helping me his pulled engines apart and put them together, just need the information above
no worries it would work out cheaper and easier to get a whole motor but anyway… Um you can get a gasket kit for like $120 off ebay and the torque setting is do all nuts to 34nm then another 90degrees then to 81nm also be carefull they cant just be done up any way you haft to do it in a certain pattern.. Also you will need new head bolts.. Things you will need are torque wrench, gasket kit including inlet manifold gasket and exhaust gaskets etc, head bolts plus they will need to have a flat surface.. How do you know heads arnt warped or cracked???
you're looking at $100+ for the head gaskets and manifold gaskets, by rights the head bolts are torque to yield so should be replaced also (if you're lucky you can use them twice but there's a chance they'll break when torqued again, especially the 2 longer ones) for the settings grab a gregorys manual it has all the details and instructions regarding order etc etc.
