Anyone replaced a broken mast before?
I struggled to get the old mast out, and then cannot feed the new one through (like there is a blockage).
Also mistakenly removed the motor when I didn't need to, and broke a brush on the way back together.

Long story short, I will probably purchase a complete working unit from a wreckers, unless I can source brushes only.

Interested in others experiences.

I've never had much success with replacing masts on my VS Calais and wife's VS Clubsport. In the end, always ended up replacing the whole unit with a new Aerpro AP971. A bit fiddly to install but not too bad. Having said that, the prices are now around 50% higher than the last time I needed to buy a replacement.

I am considering getting a VY aerial (as the internal is the same) but am unsure if wiring changed between those years.

wiring should be the same, positive. ground and a signal wire there might be a different plug on it, but you could change that in 2 seconds
a quick googley image search the vr/vs looks so similar to the vt/x/y style it might fit right up

Aerial wire and earth.
Then earth and up/down wires on the motor.
Yeah a Google images search makes me think that it is possible.

I can supply a Genuine Eurovox replacement unit complete with brand new mast fitted. I used to do them for most members on here. If you want to proceed just send me a PM.

Cheers.

Always seems too hard for international money transfer (as opposed to c/card from a business) that I don't bother.
I would definitely hit you up if we were in the same country.
Thank you for your kind offer though mate.
