Has anyone ever seen any new replacement black hard rubber cylindrical stand offs as used to lift the height of the console off the floor and up to match the radio fascia.

These are all now all at an age where they can no longer handle the pressure put on them by the screws that you wind down to raise up the console towards the radio fascia.

You can always tell when a console has been removed at some stage as the body of the console has an excessive gap compared to non removed units.

Has anyone come up with an alternative solution to this problem ?

I reckon you could find a suitable replacement at Clark Rubber, search their stock of rubber feet etc

That price of $35 is obscene isn't it and all it is is a bit of cylindrical plastic with a hole drilled and a thread tapped. The originals were really hard rubber which was far more NVH absorbing than plastic would ever be.

Cheers.
