I noticed my stock left parcel shelf woofer in my VZ Calais is distorting even down low so I figure its had it and I may as well replace the both of them.
Anyone whos replaced them before know the size of what is currently installed and what can fit in there as a replacement without too much stuffing around?

8" subwoofers like every other year, make sure you get open air replacements I'm using 2x8" open air soundstream rf-8w but they are bigger than original ones, 4ohms u need.

Yes and low profile too i think, to fit into the parcel shelf. Otherwise i think you have to start chopping the parcel shelf sheet metal on the boot side, but don't quote me on that, it's been awhile since I did some.

I thought 8” factory subs were 2ohms?

Was under the impression they are near identical set up to the subs and amp used in VE.

2 or 4ohms doesn't really matter, 2 ohms are a louder setting but have poor quality, I be putting in 4 ohms shallow mount free air subs, I would also add a amp to run them those little genuine amps are not very good. I'm sure the parcel shelf has a 6x9 plate u can just punch out if not then cut it or fit the sub to top of the moulding.

To replace the subs, theres a few on Bumtree from VE Calais and Statesman that are the same as VZ.

Thanks, I think I may go the pioneer setup, I was planning on putting a sub in the boot but I think two of the pionner woofers with that amp you listed would be good enough
