Replacing Front Grill Badge - VE

I've just bought new badges for my SV6 VE. I know the front badge is clipped in but my new one has adhesive on it, not the clips. Am I able to just stick it on there or should I be buying another new one to clip in?

If you clean the surface properly first (I used Metho) the adhesive should be just fine. Mines been on for years now.
