Replacing Front Left Panel

I've looked through the threads and can't find anything on this - so I apologise in advance if its answered somewhere.

Some idiot (yeah ok me) hit a rather nasty steel pole in a car park and managed to badly dent the front left panel above the left tire.

Was thinking of getting a replacement panel and doing a DIY - but wanted to see if it was a relatively 'easy' job to do - or one best left for someone who does it?

I want to save the time and money of taking it to a specialised person, and wondered if anyone could offer some help/tips/tricks to doing this.
