I`m assuming it`s as simple as, relieving the fuel system pressure and disconecting the lines, removing and replace is that it, am I missing something??
as i have been told i'll need to do a similar thing to mine we are talking about the device that sits bottom left on front side of engine yeah? and forgive my vagueness, but why release fuel pressue? I mean i would assume by removing this component oil may spill out but not at a rapid rate, although by suggessting reliving pressue will oil not come out? or what? again, i'm yet to do this fix myself...
No..no..no, where talkin bout the Pressure regulator that sits at the back of the drivers side fuel rail, I don`t know what "you" are refering to, first I thought maybe the charcoal canister, but then you said oil, thats when you lost me. EDIT. You must have meant the oil filter
ohh no i miss read, i thought it was oil pressure regulator, i think i may have mistaken this thread for another... sorry man
One other thing on this, you`ve got the vac line, fuel line and the connection to the rail, with the connection to the rail it seems as though it needs a grommet seal (has a small recess) can/sould I just use the old one?, as a new one was not supplied (bosch). I am going to do it this weekend and don`t wanna f*@k it up leaving me with no car for work on monday.
The old one should be fine. Make sure it is a tight fit and has no cracks and it should be fine... No need to take the fuel pump relay and crank her over, only a little bit of fuel will come out so it's a waste of time depressurizing the system. Although if you decide to do this and she fires, means she's flooded. (even though the Greg book says it will start then stall, it's wrong...)
Good on ya wavez, I though you`d be the best person to ask though I just posted this up instead of P.Ming you. P.s I do believe the car has to be running first and then you pull the relay.
All done, the car starts smick now, no more pumping the accelarator to start it like it was a carby engine, lol
