got list of required repairs from Midas - as follows

    1. Front radius Rod bushes worn @ both ends $500
    2. Front sway bar link bushes worn $140
    3. Engine mounts sagged $450

Are these within normal prices? bit hard not having $1090 upfront = which repair is more important first? so I can pay for one repair at a time

I think those prices are a bit high considering the price of the parts themselves. I'd say the most important repair would be the engine mounts, if they are indeed sagging. Pedders told me I needed new engine mounts and I had replaced them a few months earlier. It also depends on how bad you radius rod bushes and link pin bushes are. I would get a second opinion to be sure. Shop around prices vary heaps.

Sounds a bit high, I would get a couple of quotes first, I had new link pins and bushes fitted by the Holden dealer to my VX SS while it was in for service and from memory they charged me about $100, that was for new bushes and pins both sides. If I had to pick what to do first I would go the engine mounts, but make sure they do in fact need changing.

For $100 worth of parts, that's alot of money in labour for a job that should only take a few hours including some beer time

The parts are well over $100. The radius rod bushes are about $150 a pair ( more if you buy from holden) the engine mounts are $50-$60 each (once again more from holden) but the labour costs are still too high.

cheaper quotes from local holden dealership

    1. Front sway bar link bushes $125 (midas $140)
    2. Front radius rod bushes $450 (midas $500)
    3. Engine mounts $390 (midas $450)

still little bit cheaper - will get quotes from Pedders - wont be holding my breath

Engine mounts you could do at home if your mildly mechanicly minded. Took me half a day with my dad of fiddling around trying to get the passenger side to drop fit in correctly, we kept on trying to slide it in from underneath the engine bay, but it ended up slotting in perfectly from the top > sliding it into the chassis hole first, then levering the engine onto it :) Dont forget to do your tranny mount when u do ur engine mounts also, one thing i forgot :p
