hi i found out my manifold gasket is bugged but since the car has high ks i have decided to do the head gasket at the same time could any one tell me if i can get away with taking the heads off then putn them back on an not having to adjust the tappets as long as i dont let any oil out of the engine to keep the oil pressure up or do i still have to adjust them???

VZ GTO. VS LS1.
The ecotec motor runs hydraulic roller lifters direct off the camshaft. They are not adjustable and will give the correct clearances once the rocker/pushrod assembly is all bolted down to the head. So yes, you can replace your manifold and head gaskets without having to touch the lifters.
