Just after some suggestions on a good restaurant in Melbourne (CBD). Is my partner and I's anniversary and I have booked somewhere to stay in the city but still haven't worked out where to go for dinner. Not overly fussed with price (also don't want to pay stupid money for food) and after some quality food but not over the top fancy as my partner simply won't eat it
Beaumaris isn't in the CBD. If you want the novelty crap to go along with it, try Jamie Oliver's resteraunt "Seven". I went there 2 nights after it opened for mine and one of my mates birthday. The food is a bit pricey, but it was really nice food!
Nah not after crap like that, don't want any hustle and bustle. Nice and quite with a nice atmosphere.
Yep. There was other dishes that were more than that. It is one of Crown's top shelf restaurants. Reaper
It was $188 on the menu posted by the door last Saturday night. There were other cheaper alternatives down to a (somewhat more) reasonable $60 or so. Reaper
I've been to one of the restuarant out the front of crown can't remember what it was called but the food was excellent and $36 for a huge rib eye one of the best steaks i've had
A couple of favorites Number 8 - out side of crown, along southbank Circa, the prince - In St. Kila Cecconi's - One of my favourites cecconi's cantina - fine italian dining - private dining Shanikas @ Viale - Its not in the CBD. Buts its great Shanikas @ Viale Water Front - station pier Sails on the bay - Wedding venues melbourne wedding venues function venues melbourne Sails On The Bay Elwood Blue stone - Bluestone Restaurant Bar, Melbourne, Melbourne restaurant | Cuisine - Modern Australian restaurant some fantastic places here
I'm actually thinking Blue Fire at Docklands. I would love the food at alot of the places everyone has listed but frankly she wouldn't eat 90% of the food on the menu. At least at Blue Fire I know she will eat there, and Hot Chocolate is next door so we can go there for desert. Thanks heaps for everyone's input.........might as well keep the thread going for anyone else interested. Can start the JC fine dining club
Go for a strole! taxi to the foodie part of town and take a nice walk along the Yarra so you can smooch her on the way and the menu's are out the front of the restaurant so perhaps she might feel like something nice, buy her a flower along your walk and stop to listen to the buskers, there are soooo many places to go but a walk around crown is nice as well.
Vege bar in Brunswick road, best place to be in Melbourne for sure , the girls working there have the vegetarian hotness oozing out of them too
