Hi all new to the forum.

I have been looking to get our VL started after 13 years in the shed. I have removed the fuel tank and have had to get repairs done to the return line pipe.

Now looking to reseal the tank. I am looking at using KBS tank sealer kit. Has anyone had any experience using it? Do you need to wash out with water after cleaning? Has anyone used a heat gun to dry out tank and if so what temp. When applying sealer coat how do you go about it. Pour and drain sealer through the sender unit hole?

Thank you

I have done a few tank restos vk to vs, lucky I never had bad insides, I just had to clean, dry thoroughly and exhaust petrol vapours for alterations
There are many kbs kit vids on Utube, looks very easy enough for anyone to do. The expensive kits seem to have a cleaner and techniques to do in the steps. Check out the vids before buying kit as there are other cheap ways to do nearly some of the steps of kit if your tank is rusted.

Get a radiator joint to hottank it..will be super clean no more vanish inside.

I've never used tank seal kits tbh.

With upcoming heatwave do tank seal kit in morning then stick it out in the sun.

if the tank is rusty inside get another tank I've wasted plenty of time with those kits a year or 2 later, the leak will reappear some where else same as welding up holes in rusty old buckets.
