Hey guys,
Yep, I was in a rush and dented my Calais with a trailer. Just wondering what my best bet is here.
It looks like I can take the panel off, and I could probably bash it out myself (but it will be rough) and pay for a paint job.

Just thinking whether I should attempt it myself, (with no proper panel beating tools) or bite the bullet.

How much will it cost at the panel beaters for something that small?
How much should it cost to get it re-sprayed? (just so i don't get ripped off)

Here's some pics.

this guy shows it can be done !!! without even painting , but im with Big al here mate , if u not sure , leave it to the pros , but something around that size an where it is id say rough of bout $700 drive in drive drive out... couldn't have hit it a bit higher an not on the crease line woulda made it a whole lot easier and cheaper , u can straighten it with a dent puller fill it an paint it but position of it , would probs still look like **** unless done in a shop with the right tools

Have it done professionally without doubt. Don't go for a cheap quote.
Have it done so you and everybody else has no idea it got a hit there.

My guess is count on a thou. at least. It does look to have had the hit a while ago, as it's quite rusty. Best to have it fixed promptly IMHO.

have a professional repair it. i wouldnt recommend changing the quarter unless it was really bad. thats easily repairable, but what ever you do let the panel beaters bash it out otherwise youll make a dogs breakfast out of it and cause them more work. which they will charge you for.

id say thats a 3-4 hour repair, and 3-4 hours on paint (if they dont need to go into the back door with color). 800 to a thou easy...

maybe save money and touch up the bumper too...
