Not sure what you blokes know about Buick V6, I have been trying to find info without a lot of success on head upgrades for my VR. I want to skim the heads but not sure how much I can shave without causing problems. My concern is two fold in that I don't want to increase the preload too much and I also don't want upset the porting on the manifold. The other thing I want to do is port the heads but I don't want to sacrifice bottom end to have decent gains at 4500. I'd be open to some suggestions you blokes might have.
I am looking at a valve seat reshape plus porting but not sure how much they should take out and whether they need to weld up the lower ports and take more out the top? Also need to know what I should do with the manifold. There is a slight restriction at 4000 at WOT but at this stage it is very minor.
I have an estimate of $1000 to do both but I want to make sure I am giving the fellas the right info before I proceed, as I don't want it to be a slug on take off and then needing boost or a large cam to fix it.

Here is my thread so far.
