I installed a v8 throttle body onto a friends v6 vn today and for some reason even when the throttle is fully shut, the revs are sitting on around 2500rpm!!
Ive tried to loosen the cable more but theres no point once the throttle body is fully shut i guess so does anyone know what else might be causing the revs to idle so high?? cheers

one of the sensors on the tb i guess would be cusing it.

the throttle position sensor (TPS) or the IAC valve.

also make sure that all the vacuum hoses are on properly that would also cause it.

    good luck

do this, hold it up to the light when the butterfly is closed and see if u can see any light (if all else fails) it would probbly be the IAC valve because that determines the idle...

take the car for a little drive, does it drive normally??? (ie shift gears fine?)

check to make sure all the gaskets are fine too, sounds like u may have a vacuum leak

did you reset the ECU ?
also high revs can be caused by an air leak...did you put new T/B gaskets on?

sometimes it can be a problem,by not putting on new gaskets,as they are squashed down from a previous installation,if you reset the comp, don't rev it to 3000RPM for 10 seconds :).....theres no need to,even though people say it does and workshop manuals too, there is no need to
    IAC ......idle air control
